Viewpoint Media Player was a browser plug-in with stunning 3D capabilities. Adobe Flash files could be loaded as layers into the VMP to enable some degree of interactivity.
However, the functionality was extremely limited (not much more than simple buttons) and it was easy to stray outside the supported syntax. I was a Flash programmer, and I got tired of it breaking all the time so I volunteered myself to move to QA and build a comprehensive test suite of all supported functions and objects using all possible syntax variations so we could fix it.
After that it worked well, and we created a fully functional skinnable browser-embedded toolbar as well as functional skins for AOL's software. I defined the the programming architecture, helped to code it and designed some of the toolbar skins using my own photos.
